These two are smaller, 9x12 inches Belgian Linen on hardboard. The background is Cadmium Orange this time. It gives a far softer effect than the red.
Darks dried good 'n moody... which is a positive thing. While the area is quite pretty - lots of August perennials, etc., I've attempted to also capture the undercurrent of darkness that exists in these woods.
